PPL Electric Utilities to hold webinar on the anatomy of your electric bill
Business owners can learn more about charges, how to shop for electricity, and scam prevention

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Mar. 1, 2022) – PPL Electric Utilities will hold a webinar on Tuesday, March 8, from 10 to 11 a.m., where business customers can learn more about the anatomy of their electric bills. The educational session will cover how to read the bills, an explanation of charges, how to shop for an electricity supplier and tips to avoid common scams.

This free online forum is open to any current PPL Electric business customer, but participants must register to reserve their spot. Customers will receive an email, to their registered email address, where they will be able to add the webinar to their preferred calendar. Registrations will be accepted until the time of the event.

Based on customer feedback, PPL Electric redesigned its bills to make them easier to read and find the account information that is most important to customers. The revamp, which took place in August of 2021, also makes it easier to identify electricity supplier information.

Customers are now able to see which company supplies their electricity and compare their current rate to PPL Electric’s Price to Compare, which is the rate customers pay if they don’t choose an electricity supplier. It’s important to remember that PPL Electric delivers electricity, but in Pennsylvania customers can shop around for a supplier that’s right for them.

In addition to supplier information, customers can review a year-over-year comparison of their electricity use to help them make more informed energy choices to save money. And, of course, customers can still view their current balance, due dates, payment options and more.

The new design of the bill is also reflected in online customer accounts. Following a recent redesign to pplelectric.com, it’s easier than ever for customers to register for an online account, in just three simple steps. Once registered, customers can manage their account, enroll in paperless billing, view their electricity use and much more.

During the upcoming webinar, presenters will also share resources to identify fraud and deceptive marketing tactics sometimes used by electricity suppliers to trick or pressure customers into switching supply service — often at a higher cost.
