PPL Electric Utilities raises $129,000 with 28th annual Operation HELP golf tournament
Operation HELP has contributed over $33 million and helped more than 110,000 families struggling with their energy bills
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 15, 2022) – PPL Electric Utilities has announced it has raised a record $129,000 through its 28th annual Operation HELP golf tournament. These funds will be applied to Operation HELP, a fuel fund that assists income-eligible PPL Electric customers struggling to pay their energy bills.
Operation HELP, which was established in 1983, is primarily supported by donations from PPL Electric, its employees, and customers, but the annual golf tournament has become its largest fund-raising event. This year’s tournament — which was held on Sept. 15 at Olde Homestead Golf Club in New Tripoli — continued the yearly tradition after a record-breaking year in 2021.
“We’re happy to host this annual event and raise funds for Operation HELP,” said PPL Electric Utilities Regulatory Programs Manager Jaclyn Baldwin. “This program is just one of the many ways we continue to assist our customers in their times of need. Operation HELP — along with other programs — help those who are behind on their energy bill and provide them with ways to catch up.”
Since 1983, Operation HELP has contributed over $33 million in grants toward customer bills and has helped more than 110,000 families in need.
“Contributions from PPL Electric, its employees and customers, along with this annual golf tournament and its partners, help make this program a huge success,” Baldwin said. “Operation HELP has been assisting customers for nearly 40 years and it will continue to do so well into the future.”
