Operators Reconnect Unit 2 at Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant
BERWICK, Pa., March 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Operators at PPL's Susquehanna nuclear power plant reconnected the Unit 2 reactor to the electrical grid Tuesday (3/25) after repairing a valve on a non-safety-related water supply pump.
Operators shut the unit down early Thursday (3/20) to establish the working conditions needed to perform the required maintenance on this valve.
Unit 1 continues to operate at full power.
The Susquehanna plant, located in Luzerne County about seven miles north of Berwick, is owned jointly by PPL Susquehanna LLC and Allegheny Electric Cooperative Inc. and is operated by PPL Susquehanna.
