ALLENTOWN, Pa. – This year, PPL is marking a century of people powering life. To celebrate our centennial, we’re honoring the people who work to transform lives in their communities. They are the bright lights powering progress and making a difference.

The PPL Foundation will give a total of $100,000 in grants to help illuminate the outstanding contributions of individuals working in the nonprofit sector. Ten Bright Lights grants of $10,000 will be awarded in honorees’ names to the nonprofit agencies they support.

“For 100 years, PPL has been a vital part of the communities we serve, helping to power life’s moments for generations,” said Ryan Hill, president of the PPL Foundation. “Our centennial is a significant milestone, and we want to celebrate by shining a spotlight on the transformative work of individuals who are leading the charge to create a better world.”

The foundation is accepting Bright Lights nominations from February 1 to April 30. Submissions will be reviewed based on a variety of criteria, including impact, innovation, inspiration and dedication, and will be featured on the Bright Lights program website.

Award honorees will be announced in September 2020.

Nominees must be residents of the 29 counties in Pennsylvania served by PPL Electric Utilities and must be employed by nonprofit agencies aligned with PPL Foundation’s mission.
