Crews from PPL Electric Utilities Help Storm Cleanup in New Jersey

ALLENTOWN, Pa.
Line crews and support personnel from PPL Electric Utilities' work locations in northeastern and north central Pennsylvania traveled to central and southern New Jersey Saturday afternoon (7/20) to help Public Service Electric & Gas restore power to its customers.
PSE&G requested help from neighboring utilities after strong thunderstorms Friday evening (7/19) left thousands of its customers in New Jersey without electricity.

PPL Electric Utilities responded by sending 28 employees from Scranton, Williamsport, Bloomsburg, Sunbury and the Poconos. They will be working in the Somerset and Moorestown areas and are expected to stay in New Jersey until the storm cleanup work is completed.
The storms left about 10,000 PPL Electric Utilities' customers without power, mainly in the Allentown and Lancaster areas. All of those customers affected by the storm were back in service by Saturday afternoon.
PPL Electric Utilities provides assistance to other utility companies when it is able to do so without affecting its ability to respond to its 1.3 million customers in 29 counties of eastern and central Pennsylvania.
Already this summer, PPL Electric Utilities has provided line crews to help utilities in Pittsburgh and Baltimore restore service to customers following storms.
